Basically I'm from the Midwest.I have lived in lots of
places since being born in Missouri in 1950. We moved around many times after I was
in school. Here is the list:
- 1st grade: Columbia, Missouri
- 2nd grade: Ainsworth, Nebraska
- 3rd grade: A one room school near my grandparents
farm in northern Missouri
(between Paris and Perry, MO)
- 4th grade: Kalamazoo, Michigan
- 5th grade: Quincy, Illinois
- 6th grade through 12th: Murphysboro, Illinois
- College: University of Illinois, Urbana
(BS in Education)
- Grad School: Eastern Illinois University, Charleston
(MS in Instructional Media)
I got my first job in 1975 and for the next five years
taught at Proviso East H.S. in Maywood, IL. During this time I met my
wonderful wife Marie at church (Calvary Memorial Church). She was working as a nurse
at West Suburban
Hospital in Oak Park, (where Beth and Becky were later born). We were
married on August 19, 1978 so that makes our next anniversary our 25th. I'm a very lucky
man to have such a great wife.
I have had many different jobs: painter, industrial roofer,
computer software trainer, English teacher, science teacher, computer and network support
analyst, recording studio manager and missionary to Pakistan.

| << This is what I look
like now. Some of my high school students call me Santa, the Pillsbury Doughboy, or
even Papa Smurf. Others call me things I can't mention here. |
